Tom Lawrence (Tom Conway) poses as an insurance investigator in order to look into a murder at an all girls school.
During his investigation another murder occurs. There is also a supernatural element introduced in the tale via the character of Marguerita Serena played by the gorgeous Paula Corday. This young woman has the ability to predict future events, and she predicts the second murder.
The movie moves along at break neck speed and blends mystery, light comedy and supernatural elements very well. There are lots of memorable set pieces in this short 68 minute movie, and perhaps this and a great mixture make it a very popular effort.
The rest of the cast includes Jean Brooks, Amilita Ward, Isabell Jewel, George Givot, Cliff Clark, Edward Gargan, Barbara Brown, and Olin Howlin.
I can't recommend this RKO mystery enough. I suggest you see it.
