Kaplan got his first offer to direct a feature film from Roger Corman. It was entitled "Night Call Nurses" and it proved to be a huge hit. Kaplan's career took off.
He directed other films for Corman including "The Student Teacher" and :The Slams" for Gene Corman.
Some of his best movies in my opinion include the two above mentioned films as well as "Truck Turner", "White Line Fever", and "Girls Of the White Orchid".
Jonathan Kaplan passed away on August 2, 2025 at the age of 77.
