HOUSE OF THE WOLFMAN 2009 (RYKO)

This was an enjoyable horror film.

I can't believe that this movie is already 16 years old!! This is a sopt on tribute movie to the classic Universal horror movies of the 30's and 40's.

Five people are gathered in a mansion during a raging thunderstorm thinking one of them is going to inherit an estate. Instead they find much more than they ever intended.

Ron Chaney is Bela Reinhardt, the mysterious man who seems to own the castle. When all of the guests arrive, that is when the slow burning terror starts.

The cast handles everything very well and director Eben McGarr knows exactly what he is doing in this genre. What serves this movie well is the black and white photography, the great music and the very authentic 40's sets. Everything is perfect!!

The monsters, Frankenstein, Wolfman and Dracula are just as perfect. The final confrontation between Frankenstein and the Wolfman is expertly handled and Mike Thomas is perfect as Dracula.

I have seen a lot of these "fan" films over the years, but this one is simply the best because the actors and filmmakers knew what they were doing and didn't go overboard with what they consider to be "camp".

The rest of the cast includes Dustin Fitzsimons, Sara Raftery, Billy Bussey and the lovely Rodes Phire. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
