Boris Karloff is Dr. Thomas Bolton who is experimenting with finding a way to make surgery painless and soon finds himself addicted to the very drugs he is using in experiments on himself.
He soon finds himself being blackmailed by a den of murderers led by a shady character named Resurrection Joe, played by Christopher Lee. This only leads to further problems.
The fine cast also includes Finlay Currie, Betta St. John, Adrienne Corrie and Francis De Wolff. Excellent film with fine direction from Robert Day. If you like horror and heavy drama then I recommend this for you.
