MARK OF THE WITCH 1970 (SINISTER CINEMA)

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!

A shot in Texas thriller about a 300 year old witch that comes back from the dead and possesses the body of a young co-ed. This film is very well made and has a great opening scene of a witch being hung and then it cuts to scenes around a college campus in the autumn and a very creepy "rune" written by lead actress Anitra Walsh and spoken by Trella Hart.

Anitra Walsh dies at the young age of 32 and I have not found out why, but she does a great acting job as does most of the cast. The film makes it's way to what I consider to be a shocking ending that has always captured my interest no matter how many times I see this film.

This also has a cool regional flavor to it that makes it all the more enjoyable. Highly Recommended!!

  1. I've just watched this film and was saddened to read of Anitra's early death and was curious as to why she died at such an early age, she was very beautiful. Darren.

    1. I agree completely, she was a lovely woman. I have never been able to find out her cause of death.

  2. So I just watched the film. Anitra was so pretty (women in the 70s were so much prettier than women today!) and I wanted to see what else she'd done. How sad I was to discover she died at just 32. I was nearly killed at 30 so I know how young that is. I NEED to know more about her. I've got to know if she endured a horrible tragedy as did I. I hope not but i want to know more about her and what happened. Im in the UK. Isn't there someone interested as well who lives in or can go to New York and find out more? Such as how the death was recorded and if she had any family? I would like to write a story or even a play about her.

  3. I agree that women in the 70's were much better looking than today. I have never been able to find out much info about her. I can only suggest you go online and see if you can find a death record.

  4. She was pretty fn good looking, women in general were so much more attractive back then....more healthy & less plastic appearance. I hate seeing their current pictures after X amount of decades, the passage of time is such a downer.

I imagine you can get a coroner's report fairly easily, nyc seems to hand them out as frequently as parking tickets. G.G. Allin's was easy to get.

If they give you a problem just submit a FOIA request & they'll have to divulge what they have.
