MONSTER FROM THE OCEAN FLOOR 1954 (VCI)

This is a newly released version from VCI, and it looks very good.

A young woman on vacation in Mexico learns of the legend of a huge sea monster that has been eating cattle and a few swimmers as well in an isolated bay.

Corman produced this film for $12,000 and recruited the new submarine from a company called Areojet General for the film as well. The monster is a cyclopian horror that reminds me of the monster in Atomic Submarine, but on a much cheaper level. Pretty Anna Kimball is the leading lady and Stuart Wade in the scientist who first balks at her tale of a monster, but slowly comes to believe her and fall in love with her.

The sub is pretty cool and director Wyott Ordung has a role in the film as does Corman. If you are a Corman fan as I am and you haven't seen this film, do so. Not bad at all for what it is and VCI has put this out on "Creepy Creatures Vol. 1" along with "Serpent Island" which I will review very soon as well.
