THIRTEENTH HOUR 1947 (SONY)

Richard Dix stars in his final movie as a truck driver named Steve Reynolds.

Steve gets caught up in a rivalry with another trucking company and soon finds himself framed in the killing of a traffic cop that gets run over by one of the trucks he owns.

He has to go on the lam to prove he didn't kill the cop and all he has for evidence is a diamond studded glove. Steve finds himself getting more and more closed into a corner.

Dix suffered a heart attack during filming and died two years later. This was also one in a long line of "The Whistler" films that were adapted for the screen from the radio program.

This is a very tight film noir that keeps your attention and never lets you go. Dix does his usual good job as does the supporting players.

Speaking of supporting players, the rest of the cast includes Karen Morley, Jim Bannon, Regis Toomey, John Kellogg and Mark Dennis.

I really enjoyed this movie and it has a great twist ending. You might see it coming in the final minute. I did, but it was still kind of a suprise.
