MURDER AT THE BASKERVILLES 1937 (MILL CREEK)

I had never seen this film before and I have no idea how this has eluded me all these years.

Arthur Wontner is Sherlock Holmes. Holmes takes a vacation and visits his old friend Sir Henry Baskerville.

Holmes and Watson (Ian Fleming) soon find themselves involved in trying to solve a double murder. Lawrence Grossmith is very good as Henry Baskerville and the production moves along at a good pace.

Holmes finds himself going head to head with his old nemesis Prof. Moriarty (Lyn Harding)who is behind the murders and also fixing horse races.

Wontner is good as Holmes but I do admit that I prefer Basil Rathbone, but that is probably because I grew up on those and had never seen this film until recently.

I would again recommend this to mystery fans. Worth checking out.
