An alien spaceship lands in Lapland and a huge monster begins to run amok killing local wildlife and terrorizing the people. A scientist and his party investigate and find that the ship is inhabited by aliens who are trying to get the monster back.
The creature is pretty cool looking and the effects are pretty good for a film like this. Robert Burton is the scientist and Barbara Wilson is his very sexy niece. I wonder what ever happened to Barbara Wilson anyway?
Virgil Vogel directed this and filmed it entirely in Lapland. The scenery is beautiful and the music score fits the film perfectly. Not a bad monster on the loose flick and one that I highly recommend.
I first saw this back in the early 80's as "Invasion Of The Animal People" which is the US title for the Jerry warren version of this film. Something Weird offers both the US and original version on this disc. Go with the UNCUT original.
