LADY, STAY DEAD 1981 (FROLIC)

A very good and underrated horror film from Australia.

Popular opinion is you either like this or hate it, there is no in between. I happen to have really enjoyed this movie.

As the movie opens we see a man named Gordon Mason (Chard Hayward) walking around his home in his underware, and then pulling a female doll out of his closet and having sex with it while he listens to music from a female singer he is obsessed with.

He is also the groundkeeper for the attractive singer named Marie (Deborah Coulls) with whom he is obsessed. He ends up raping and killing her after a while and then kills her eldeely neighbor after he catches him trying to hide her body.

Things get even worse when marie's sister Jenny (Louise Howett) shows up to house sit for her. Jenny can find nobody around, but does run into Gordon who proceeds to terrorize her and makes many attempts to kill her.

However, Jenny brings more fight to the table that her sister did and Gordon is not having a good time of it. The suspense builds as Gordon tries everything to kill the innocent Jenny.

This is a very well handled film from director Terry Bourke and it will keep your attention for the entire running time. There are some shocking scenes in this movie, some nudity and graphic violence, and it all mixes very well indeed.

This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED shocker that really deserves to be seen more.
