A young man named Manuel del Rio Montoya (Asher Dann) works on a yacht of a tycoon. One day he meets a beautiful young woman named Anne Treymore (Joanna Dru) and they begin a relationship.
Soon after Joe Balfour (Mark Stevens) and his friend Ernie Williams (Robert Strauss) come and make Manuel an offer to use the boat in order to find a treasure.
Manuel has everyone believing that he owns the boat and they agree to go on a treasure hunt. The trip is fraught with dangers such as strong storms, fighting amongst themselves and sharks under the water.
The color and photography in the movie is simply beautiful. It was shot in 3-D and that version is on this disc as well, but I can't watch anything in 3-D since I only have one eye, but I am sure it looks great. The 2-D version looks fantastic.
The movie wraps up well and I was satisfied with the climax. I recommend this little gem of forgotten cinema directed by Byron Haskin to any fan of cinema. If for nothing else it was great to see Joanna Dru in a very different role for her at the time.
The rest of the cast includes Claude Ivry, Vera Valmont and Jean-Pierre Kerien.
