The film opens with a large man named Moose Malloy (Ward Bond) getting into a fight in a night club while looking for a mysterious woman he calls Velma.
A murder ensues and before you know it Gay Lawrence AKA The Falcon (George Sanders) is involved in the case along with Insp. Mike O' Hara (James Gleason).
The plot has a lot of comedy thrown in involving James "Goldy" Locke (Allen Jenkins) and his encounters with Mallory. Does this help the movie? Not really in my opinion.
I like this series, but sometimes too much comedy can kill it. Anyway, The Falcon and O' Hara try and track down Malloy as well as solve what is becoming a trail of murders and blackmail.
Putting all of the material from the original story into a compact 63 minute film is rather hard to do, but it works here. The cast carries this film very well, and if not for the great job they all do, I don't know if this would have been any good.
The rest of the cast includes Lynn Bari, William Alland, Helen Gilbert, Turhan Bey, George Cleveland, Hans Conried, Edward Gargan and Sally Cairns.
This is the 3rd of the 16 films in the series.
