Frank Gifford, a former football star and one of the voices on Monday Night Football died of natural causes on Aug. 8th surrounded by family and friends.
Gifford was was a wide receiver for the New York Giants and had 8 pro bowl appearances as well as 5 trips to the NFL Championship game. Gifford, along with Howard Cosell and Dom Meredeth made MNF a true Icon in TV during the 70's and 80's.
Gifford was a very articulate man who added nothing but class to the announcing game for ABC Sports. Thanks for the sports memories Mr. Gifford.
