THE QUEEN'S SWORDSMAN 1961 (SOMETHING WEIRD)

I searched a long time for this film and finally found it. This is a Mexican film which is a fun if somewhat bizarre tale about a wolf and a skunk named Stinky that become the greatest swordfighters in a small kingdom! They have a small girl with them that they found alive in the woods when she was an infant, now she is 5 or 6 and travels with the unlikely pair.
The story revolves around a beautiful Princess who is kidnapped by a wicked woman who want the princess to marry her son. The always sexy as hell Ariadne Welter is the Princess, and it is she who makes this film a standout for me.
This is a very obscure and hard to find title, but if you ever have the chance I suggest you see it. It has some interesting things in it for a children's fantasy film such as a whipping, lots of violent swordplay and Welter is tortured on the rack, but hey, times have changed, and not for the better mind you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
NOTE: THIS IS THE VERY RARE ENGLISH DUBBED PRINT!

MUTINY IN OUTER SPACE 1965 (SINISTER CINEMA)

Classic space film about a living fungus that comes from the moon and infects an entire spacestation while the crew attempt to figh it as well as a captain who has gone crazy. I have always enjoyed this film, and seeing it again makes me enjoy it even more.
Gorgeous Dolores Faith stars along with Glen Langan, William Leslie, Richard Garland and Pamela Curran. This is an entertaining way to spend 82 minutes, and the Sinister print is simply the best I have seen of this film.

RIP PETER BRECK 1929-2012

Actor Peter Breck passed away on Feb. 6th after a long illness. Genre fans will remember him from such classic films as The Crawling Hand, Hootenanny Hoot, Shock Corridor and many more. He was also a staple in many, many westerns including Big Valley. He was 83.

COVER GIRL MODELS 1975 (SHOUT FACTORY)

Another in the Lethal Ladies 2 collection stars Pat Anderson, Vic Diaz, and Mary Woronov. This story involves three models who are involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse with killers after a roll of microfilm hidden in one of their dresses.
Lots of action and some bloody kills make this a winner from Corman's New World Pictures. The widescreen presentation is very good, and again, I recommend this for people who like action films, but nothing heavy.
Filmed in the Philippines and diected Cirio Santiago, this is a winner.

FLY ME 1973 (SHOUT FACTORY)

Part of the Lethal Ladies 2 collection of Roger Corman Cult Classics from Shout, this film deals with stewardesses who battle kung fu killers over stolen drugs and prostitution. Set in Hong Kong, but filmed in the Philippines this little film has some very good action sequences amid all the comedy.
A very odd mixture of comedy and action and exploitation, I recommend this film as I do almost all of the Corman films period.
Vic Diaz, Pat Anderson, Dick Miller and Richard Young star.

RIP MORGAN JONES 1928-2012

I just received word that character actor Morgan Jones passed away on Jan. 13th at the age of 84. Jones made hundreds of movie and TV appearances, but is best remembered by genre fans as the heroic cop in the 1957 Roger Corman production of Not Of This Earth.
He also appeared in Forbidden Planet, Apache Woman, Fear Strikes Out and many more. He will be missed but has left a great legacy behind for film fans.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO......

HUMAN DUPLICATORS 1965 (ATLAS)

I love this film!! George Nadar stars as an agent for the US Government who is investigating robberies at high tech labe when he stumbles across an alien inavader who is duplicating humans in ordere to take over the world.
Richard Keil is the alien named Kolos and George Macready is the scientist he duplicates to help him. Lots of garish colors and bizarre action make this a winner that you simply must see.
The rest of the cast is rounded out by Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Nichols, Dolores Faith and Richard Arlen. Highly Recommended!!

RIP BILL HINZMAN 1936-2012

The man best known as the first screen zombie to make his appearance in Night Of The Living Dead has passed away at the age of 75.  Hinzman was also known for the movie he directed in 1990 called "Flesh Eater" in which he played the same zombies as in the original NOTLD. He also had roles in Romero's other films entitled Jack's Wife (Season Of The Witch) and There's Always Vanilla.
Another actor from the most influential film in my life has died.

ALL THE MARBLES 1981 (WARNER ARCHIVE)

Excellent film from Robert Aldrich about a pair of gorgeous female wrestlers who are managed by an irrepressible manager played by Peter Falk. Vicki Frederick and Laureen Landon are the females known as The California Dolls.
This is a fun film with some great wrestling action and some good drama as well. Falk is terrific as the manager who is always trying to get his girls into the big time matches. This was director Aldriche's last film and it is a total winner. Very highly Recommended!!
