Dean Stockwell stars as Wilbur Whateley a bizarre man who is trying to obtain the Necronomicon in order to let "The Old Ones" back into our dimension.
He runs into and quickly seduces a young woman by the name of Nancy Wagner played by Sandra Dee. He plans to use her in some ceremonies to make the "Old Ones" come back.
Ed Begley is a doctor who tries to stop Wilbur along with his friend Dr. Cory (Lloyd Bochner). The battleground between good and evil is set and the two men race against time to save Nancy.
The ending of the film is a classic as far as I am concerned. Former Roger Corman art director Daniel Haller directed this little gem and Corman himself executive produced. The entire cast is very good and also includes San Jaffe, Talia Shire, Michael Fox, Barboura Morris and Beach Dickerson.
The Blu-ray looks stunning and the print is the complete uncut version of the film, which I have never seen until now. A huge thanks to Shout Factory for putting this one out. Required viewing.
