The Universal Wrestling Federation started on August 26th, 1990 and lasted until July 23rd, 1996 after the death of it's founder, Herb Abrams. During that time, the UWF never failed to entertain it's fans.
The first match shown is between Bill Jack Haynes and Ken Patera. Patera was on the downslide of his career after his arrest for assault of two police officers. The crowd even chants "Jailbird" as Patera competes.
Next we have Lou Albano bring out Andre The Giant and tout him as a true force in UWF. However, Andre died shortly after and never competed in any matches.
Sunny Beach Vs. Bob Orton is next and this match gets way out of hand, but it was typical of the action one expected in this organization. We also get to see Cactus Jack go against Don Muraco in a lumberjack match which actually ends up going into the crowd.
Next we see a match between Jimmy Snuka and cactus Jack, which is again, a really crazy brawl. They just don't have matches like this anymore. The ladies take over next with Candy Divine going against Tina Moretti who would later go on to bigger fame as Ivory in the WWF.
Paul Orndorff takes on Dr, Death Steve Williams in a brutal cage match which is actually the highlight of the entire program. Finally we have UWF Champion Steve Williams taking on Sid Vicious.
Fans today that missed this era in the sport really have no idea how it was. I used to tape this program every Saturday night on KTVX in Salt Lake City and watch it on Sunday morning.
I really enjoyed this episode and seeing some of the greats that made the business what it was. Recommended for any wrestling fan.
