Jean Marias stars as the master criminal Fantomas. A reporter makes fun of Fantomas because he refuses to believe that a master criminal can really exist.
Much to his astonishment he is kidnapped by Fantomas and then used by him in order to destroy his reputation. Fantomas goes around disguised as the reporter and commits some crimes before adopting the face of Commissaire Luve (Louis de Funes) to commit more crimes.
It sounds much more complicated than it is and this film is actually better than the two that were to follow. This is uaually the case with movies however.
There is a ton of action and some wild stunts, and of course we have the gorgeous Mylene Demongeot to make things even better. If you like these French Bond knock offs you will no doubt enjoy this movie.
I recommend this but watch the others at your own risk. As I just mentioned, they are not as good, but they are entertaining.
