THE STAND 1994 (REPUBLIC)

Perhaps the greatest adaptation of a Stephen King novel ever made.

A 6 1/2 hour movie that was 8 hours long including commercials when originally broadcast in 1994. A super flu wipes out most of mankind and a small group of people start having reams of an old black woman named Mother Abigail while other have dreams of an evil "walkin dude" by the name of Randall Flagg.

Before too long the stage is set for the final stand between good and evil. The acting, directing and story plus the excellent music is perfect and makes for MUST viewing. One of the best casts ever for a King movie includes Gary Sinise, Molly Ringwald, Ray Walston, Rob Lowe, Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis, Laura San Giacomo, Adam Storke, Stephen King, Jamey Sheridan, Corin Nemec and many, many more.

This is a long movie, but I can tell you it is never boring for one single minute. Highly recommended for King fans.
