TEXAS 1941 (MILL CREEK)

Very well made western from Columbia and put on DVD in beautiful quality by Mill Creek.

Mill Creek is one of the most prolific companies around and they have thousands of releases. Most everything I have written about in the last two months has been from this company. Now they have turned out a great western set called "Western Showdown Collection" and it's a good one.

Glenn Ford and William Holden are two young men seeking fortune and adventure. They decide to head west when they notice a stagecoach robbery.

Hungry and tired the decide to rob the robbers, which they do and then they have a posse on their tail. They split up after almost being lynched by the posse.

Holden's character of Dan Thomas meets up with a young lady named 'Mike' King (Claire Trevor). After a while the men croos paths again and they find themselves on opposite sides of the law.

This western is an excellent character study of two men and it includes some unforgettable scenes and very snappy dialogue. Holden, Trevor and Ford are all top notch.

The rest of the cast is rounded out with Edgar Buchanan (in a great role), George Bancroft, Don Beddoe and Andrew Tombes.
