Steve Martin/Durango Kid is sent to a small town to recover some stolen gold, but gets much more than he bargained for. he finds the town of Wild River is being terrorized b y The Hawk and his outlaw gang.
The Hawk attempts to murder the Sheriff, Jack Mahoney (Jack Mahoney) and is thrown in jail. Durango helps the Hawk escape in order to infiltrate the gang, and he soon finds his life in danger.
This is easily one of the best of the series. In 55 minutes there is more action and plot twists than you find in movies twice as long. The rest of the cast includes Clayton Moore as The Hawk, Eddie Parker and Smiley Burnette.
A small bit of trivia...in just a few years Clayton Moore would play a masked man on a white stallion named The Lone Ranger, much like Durango on his white stallion.
A highly recommended western for fans.
