British actor Tom Helmore stars as Lamont Cranston who, along with his partner in crime solving, Margot Lane (Paula Raymond) are called in by a local police department to help solve a murder.'
In this episode A woman wearing a cotton kimona is killed and her lover is arrested by an over zealous detective and charged with her murder.
However there are a few things Cranston finds out about the detective and so he becomes the Shadow to find out the truth. I didn't find this too bad at all, but I can understand why this show never got off the ground.
Superman dominated the airwaves at this time and this show simply didn't have the appeal to superhero fans at the time. There were various "Shadow" movies and such, but I still think the adventures of Lamont Cranston are still best suited for radio.
Still, it is nice that shows like this one shot wonder can still be seen by people who enjoy them.
