Helmut Dantine stars as an alien who comes to earth and is met with nothing but hostility. Patricia Neal is a young woman who befriends him and really starts to fall in love with him.
Her boyfriend works for the government and tries to get the alien to reveal some of his secrets. It turns out he is an advanced scout and the mother ship will be visiting Earth soon. The military tries to find a way to capture the ship and force the aliens to reveal everything about their technology.
This is a rather low budget remake of "Day The Earth Stood Still" but with a slightly different spin. It is slow moving, but if you stick with it I think you'll be rewarded with the competent script and the well done performances. Try it and see.
