I was going to a lot of movies and I was making movies as well. I thought I had seen it all, until this little film came out of nowhere and knocked me for a loop.
On it's opening weekend it out grossed "Yentl" starring Barbara Streisand. Now, finally Shout Factory brings this wonderful and very creepy film to Blu-ray/DVD.
After a horrible boating accident, a young introverted teenage girl is sent by her very odd Aunt to a summer camp. The Aunt is one of the weirdest characters ever seen in a film and it expertly played by Desiree Gould.
The girls name is Angela and she arrives at the camp and never speaks a word to anyone and refuses to participate in any activity. Soon strange and horrible things begin to happen to anyone who has bad intentions and treats Angela bad. She finally makes friends with a young boy and she starts coming out of her shell.
After several brutal murders it becomes apparent that someone is protecting Angela. The final to this film is one that continues to shock to this day, 31 years after it's release.
Shout Factory brings us a great Blu-ray release of this film, and it has never looked better. There is also a 45 minute documentary on the film in which most of the cast is interviewed. Felissa Rose, who plays Angela is a very beautiful woman and her interview segments are very informative.
Shout is commended for bringing this gem to Blu-ray/DVD. This is a shocker not to be missed.
