I said i wasn't going to purchase this Blu-ray, but alas, I did anyway.
Ovidio Assonitis directed this tale about a giant octopus terrorizing a beach community. There are some effective scenes in this film such as when the monster attacks a small boat and utterly destroys it along with several people on it.
The cast is most impressive and I assume they just showed up for a paycheck. John Huston, Shelley Winters, Henry Fonda, Cesare Danova, Claude Akins and Bo Hopkins star as well as the lovely Delia Boccardo, whose death scene is one of the most remembered from the film.
The picture and sound quality are top notch, and I did enjoy seeing this again. There are some spots that plod along, but the monster keeps things going.
There is nothing special here, but it is a fun monster movie, that, as i said before, has some memorable scenes. If you're so inclined, check it out. You might like it, and the ending is one of the most original I have seen.
