When I think of Robert I think of Turner Classic Movies. For the last 23 years Osborne hosted movies on TCM and was literally a wealth of information.
I sometimes enjoyed his info about the movies more than the films themselves. Nobody, but nobody knew more that Robert. he was a familiar face to come home to and things just aren't going to be the same on TCM.
His approach to hosting is unmatched and his intros to some of the films are unforgettable. He passed away at his home in Manhatten at the age of 84.
Before there ever was an internet, Bob was the man to go to for anything you needed to know. He was warm, kind and always treated every movie with respect, which you just cannot find anymore.
He will surely be missed and if you love classic movies of all kinds and watched Robert Osborne at any time over the last 2 1/2 decades you were blessed to see someone who really cared. RIP Robert Osborne.
