I just watched one of his most famous films the other night entitled "Nightmare City". Lenzi helmed many, many films in every genre during the 50's and lasing until the early 90's.
His "Nightmare City" gave the world the first fast moving zombies and it was a ground breaker as far as Italian zombie cinema was concerned. It remains to this day my favorite Lenzi film.
We have lost a lot of great horror film directors during this year and now Lenzi joins them. Some of his other films include "Spasmo", "Messalina vs.the Son Of Hercules", "Desert Commandos", "Cannibal Ferox" and "Hunt For the Golden Scorpion" just to name a few.
For those of us that love Italian cinema his death is a huge loss for us. He died in Italy on Oct. 19th at the age of 86.
