Holmes and Watson are called in to investigate the deaths of very rich men at a Scottish castle who call themselves the Good Comrades Club.
Their deaths are predicted by the arrival of orange pips sent to each of them and delivered by their housekeeper. One by one the men are killed and for a while it seems as if Holmes and Watson are stumped.
Inspector Lestrade (Dennis Hoey) from Scotland Yard arrives and finds he is always a few steps behind Holmes. As the clues slowly reveal the killer, we find out more about the members of the club, some of which have dark secrets.
Everyone plays their parts to perfection and the rest of the cast includes Paul Cavanagh, Cyril Delavanti, and Doris Lloyd as the sinister housekeeper.
This viewing was actually the first time I had ever seen this film, and it was quite enjoyable. This entry follows the "Pearl Of Death" and precedes "Woman In Green". Recommended!!
