MONSTER MADNESS: MUTANTS, SPACE INVADERS and DRIVE-INS 2009 (TUBI)

There seems to be a lot of hate for this documentary and I don't know why.

This is one of several episodes entitled "Monster Madness" and it deals with topics I am really fond of. As I said, the hate for this really puzzles me.

Many, many movies are covered in this 94 min. presentation and many people from these films are shown in clips from other documentaries and interviews. I enjoyed listening to such people as Robert Clark, Yvette Vickers, Ed Kemmer and others.

The clips are always good to see and if you like 50's horror and sci-fi you'll get immersed in this as I did. I am sorry some of the clips from Black and White films are seen in color, but you have to do that today for the young I guess.

They do claim that Ed Wood is the worst director ever, but I take issue with that. Any movie made in the last 15 years is worse than ANYTHING Wood ever did. I do think some of the people they talked to about these films seemed to be to concentrated on the political aspects of Communism, and yet when I saw these films as a child that never entered my mind.

These were and still are entertainment movies and if people read a message into them then so be it, I just don't see it.

So many of the actor that appear in this have left us now, but it's good to see them talking to people about these films and getting their perspective. This is a well put together piece and a must for anyone who likes horror and sci-fi for this great era in films.
