Brad Harris stars as George Ryon, a man who has been wrongly accused of murder and sentanced to life in an African prison
He and another convict escape from a train they are on and make their way into the jungle. Ryon manages to stay alive, but his friend passes away after eating a poisonious plant.
The action shifts to a group of people planning an expidition into the jungle to find some hidden tombs and maybe a vast treasure. Frof. Woodworth (Attilio Dottesio) and his beautiful daughter Grace (Gisela Hahn) head into the jungle with a few others in the party.
Zambo doies not like their coming. He has been befriended by the local native tribe and works with them to keep the peace and protect the wildlife. It seems not everyone in the expidition is honest and some are planning to kill anyone who gets in their way of the treasure, if there is one.
This is a film that should really be called "The Italian Tarzan". There are a few differences, of course, but the basic idea is the same. Harris does a credible job in the title role and the film never really slows down.
I was glad to discover this little gem and I won't give too much more detail as there are things I don't wanrt to spoil. If you feel so inclined, check it out.
