PIRANHA (SONY)
This is a remake of the original 1978 classic produced by Roger Corman and directed by Joe Dante. Now, let me first say that the original is a very personal favorite ofmine because it really has heart and soul which I think is missing in today's movies.
This remake is good on it's own merits and it has far more blood and a bizarre fixation on boobs and buns, which is fine, but I think sometimes it took away from the story. After an earthquake a new lake opens beneath another on releasing a horde of prehistoric killer piranha which then proceed to go on a feeding frenzy.
Lots of blood, half eaten bodies and screaming ensue. Kelly Brooke stars along with Ving Rhames, Elizabeth Shue and Jerry O' Connell.
It's not bad as far as movies today go, but I just wish it had more heart to it.
