Richard Boone stars as a mega millionaire who finances a trip to the polar regions in search of a reported Tyranosaurus Rex in a lost world. He and his small party arrive there only to be trapped and having to fight for their lives against many monsters and savage cave people.
Lovely Joan Van Ark is a reporter along for the ride and Tetsu Nakamura (The Manster) is a professor who is killed way too early.
This is a good film with no CGI, just man in monster suits which is the way it should be. Highly Recommended!!
I snapped up the DVD on release day, as this film holds a special place in my heart.
ReplyDeleteI caught the original airing as a wee one; I think it was one of the first times The Parents let me stay up late and actually finish a movie. I loved it.
I hadn't seen it all the way through since that original date (though I did see the last 30 mins or so some time in the '80s, during on of those "ABC afternoon monster-week marathons"), and watching it anew brought back fond memories.
Glad to know there is someone else with fond memories of this wonderful little film.
