THE CRAZIES 1971 (BLUE UNDERGROUND)

A sadly neglected George Romero film.

Fine Romero film about a man made bacteriological weapon that gets into a small town's water supply and causes people to slowly go insane and/or die. The town is Evans City, PA and when the army comes in to stop the plague things really start to get wild.

Four people attempt to escape from the madness and murder and find that they too may be infected. The acting is very good as usual and the story will keep your attention. The military only makes things worse and even they don't have any idea why they are invading a small US town.

Lots of action and many different plots going on at the same time in the usual Romero fashion. Any horror fan or Romero fan will not want to miss this thriller. Interesting to note that Carole Bayer Sager and Melissa Manchester wrote the theme song which is sung by Beverly Bremers.
