He was better known as "The Iron Sheik" and he was born in Iran in 1942. He wwent on to win a medal in the 1968 Olympics. He married his wife of 47 years in 1971.
Vaziri was one tough son of a gun and he knew how to make people hate his guts. He was the only Iranian champion in pro wrestling and I have never seen anyone get so much heet in the business.
He wrestled in many promotions, but his stint in the WWE during the 80's was his watershed period. Check him out on You Tube to see what kind of a guy he was in and out of the ring.
Vaziri passed away on June 7th, 2023 at the age of 81.
