Charles Durning plays a total loser who works for the post office who seems to have a very unhealthy liking for a nine year old girl. His name is Otis Hazelrigg and he hears that the local mentally handicapped man has killed the girl so he and a few of his good buddies do the vigilante thing and kill the man, only to find out he saved her from a dog attack and she didn't die anyway.
After a mock trial where all are let go free they are soon stalked by a mysterious scarecrow who kills them off one by one. Durning is excellent in his role as the crazed postal worker who seems to never take off his work clothes.
This movie is one that when seen, is not soon forgotten. I have remembered this film since I saw it back on it's initial broadcast/ Scarey as hell with a great final!! Highly recommended!!
