Boris Karloff is Dr. Sovac who, in order to save his best friends life, transplants the brain of a gangster into his body only to find it has dire consequences.
Stanley Ridges is the kindly school teacher Karloff tries to save and Bela Lugosi is a ruthless gangster that his hunted by both the police and Ridges after he transforms into the gangster known as Red Cannon.
Anne Nagel is Cannon's girlfriend and lovely Anne Gwynne is karloff's daughter. This film is a very interesting mingling of gangster and horror melodramas and is too quickly written off by many. I recommend this film for those who wish to see something a little different.
