This is a retelling of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story, but producer William Mishkin wanted the title changed in order to cash in on the success of "The Thing With Two Heads".
Denis DeMarne is Dr. William Jekyll who has discovered a serum that brings out all of the evil in a man. He has also developed an antidote, but one of his students accidentally destroys it and tries to re-write it from memory, but fails.
Jekyll takes the formula and changes into a sadist known as Danny Blood who likes to abuse women and kill anyone whom he pleases.
This is the usual Milligan low budget film, but DeMarne does a pretty good job with the lead role. Julia Stratton and Gay Feld also do ok acting jobs. The print looks very, very good on this Blu-ray.
I love the special effect when Jekyll injects the brain with his serum and it turns green via a green light shining on it. This is actually one of the least talked about Milligan horror films and I don't know why. The budget was about $20,000 which is high for a Milligan film.
I enjoyed this film and was amazed that someone put it out on Blu-ray. If you're part of the Andy Milligan cult, then I suggest you check it out.
