This is a spoof of disaster movies and almost a word for word spoof of the 1957 film "Zero Hour", which I cannot watch anymore and NOT think about this film.
There are more sight gags in this film than you can possibly watch in one sitting. Robert Hays is Ted Striker, a former war pilot who has a fear of flying and who is forced to land a plane when some of the passengers and the entire crew get food poisoning.
That is the simple premise of the film, but with the tons of in jokes and sight gags one cannot help but laugh every minute. The all star cast includes Lloyd Bridges, Robert Stack, Leslie Nielsen, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Peter Graves, Julie Hagerty, Lorna Patterson, Steven Stucker, Barbara Billingsley and many more.
To me anyway, this is a MUST own movie when you want a laugh. They could never make this film today because we now live in a liberal PC world where nobody can laugh at themselves, but this film is a landmark in comedy.
