In Venice, CA a series of mysterious deaths prompts a disenchanted teacher to open an investigation of his own, and does he get a big surprise.
It seems the killings are being committed by a strange monster created by radiation from a chemical plant. The local police don't believe the monster theory and instead blame the killings on a local cult.
After doing more research the teacher decides to get rid of the creature with the help of several friends. This proves to be a very ill advised venture as the 'hunting" trip meets with disaster.
Shot in 1977 and released in the summer of 1978, this film is one of the last "man in a monster suit" movies to be released. Sadly, film making was changing an movies like this were losing their audience.
The Blu-ray from Code Red is simply beautiful and it is a VERY welcome addition to my library. There are some good gore effects and for the most part this is a monster movie lovers' dream.
I received this from Ronin and I had to wait as their initial pressing sold out almost immediately. Do yourself a favor and check out this cool blast from the 70's, an era of great music and horror/monster movies.
