John Agar and Lori Nelson star in this classic Universal horror film about the Gillman brought from the Amazon to the world of modern man in Florida and shown off to the public.
After a small time in captivity the creature breaks out and terrorizes the Florida coast. He kills a few people and kidnaps Nelson in hopes of a future mate. The monster is tracked down and shot then disappears again until the next sequel comes by.
This is a great film that is as good as the original. Agar is good in the leading man role as Clint Ferguson and lovely Lori Nelson is Helen Dobson, a sexy female scientist who is attracted to Ferguson while they are studying the creature. John Bromfield is Joe Hayes and surprisingly his character is killed off rather early.
Hard to believe that next year this film turns 60! This was the very first "Creature" film I saw. I didn't see the original until much later. Watching movies like this is how i really enjoy myself. Recommended!!
