THE TOP 28 DVD AND BLU-RAY RELEASES OF 2020 PART 1

2020 will always be in my mind as the year the politicians convinced the American people to live in fear of something very harmless.

Covid affected everything and that includes home entertainment. Most of the larger companies turned out hardly anything worth my time and it turned out to be the most disappointing year since I started this back in 2010.

However I managed to find 28 release from various companies. Sinister Cinema led the pack by far with a ton of new stuff that was pretty cool, and yes, there are still release from companies like Kino, Severin and Shout.

So lets start the shortest list of new releases I have ever had.

28. PINTO RUSTLERS 1936 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... A great 30's western with Tom Tyler as a man posing as an ex-con to stop a notorius gang. Very entertaining and a MUST for B western fans.

27. LIGHTS OF THE WESTERN STARS 1940 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD...Another fin western based on a Zane Gray novel. Victor Jory, Morris Ankrum and Tom Tyler star.

26. HEADLESS EYES 1971 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... This is a bizarre film about an artist who loses an eye during a robbery and then starts cutting out the eyes of young women. I had waited years to see this junk and I was not disappointed.

25. UNCONQUERED BANDITS 1935 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... Tom Tyler stars as a man seeking revenge for his fathers death. Fun B western not to be missed.

24. SPECIAL OFFER 1976 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... The first episode of the TV series "Beasts" finds a misfit teen that has the ability to bring the stores cartoon mascot to life with some pretty scary results.

23. COYOTE TRAILS 1935 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... The final Tom Tyler film in this countdown. Here we find Tyler fighting horse rustlers in a fine and well made B western.

22. THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE 1967 (KINO) BLU-RAY... Robert Hutton and Jennifer Jayne star in this seriously underrated film about alien invaders who land on Earth and are misunderstood. I have always liked this film and it got a great treatment from Kino. CHECK IT OUT!!

21. THE PIT/LONG LONG AGO 1962/1954 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... Very rare retelling of the "Pit And The Pendulum" and then as an added bonus we get a bizarre and obscure ghost story starring Tommy Rettig and Leslie Bradley.

Well, there is the first part of my three part countdown, a little late, but still I need to do this. Next Saturday I will continue as we enter the Top 20 releases of the year 2020.
