Sylvester Stallone stars as Marion Cobretti aka Cobra. He is a tough on crime cop who pulls no punches, much to the shagrine of his bosses.
Cobra gets involved with a beautiful model named Ingrid (Brigette Nielsen) who has been targeted by a bizarre murder cult that wants her dead because she saw one of their crimes bein committed.
Brian Thompson is excellent as the "Night Slasher" who is a part of the cult. His over the top insanity really steals the entire movie. For 90 plus minutes we have almost constant gun fights and chases.
The plot is very simple and the movie is mindless, but damn it's fun! This is the kind of 80's action film Cannon was known for and director George P. Cosmatos does a great job of keeping the action going.
The rest of the cast includes Art LaFleur, Reni Santoni, Lee Garlington and Andrew Robinson.
I wish they still made movies like this.
