I watched all of season one in two days and have to say I was impressed, amused and shocked by some of the material in these great little stories. A lot of them are from such folks as Henry James, Ray Bradbury and Edgar Allen Poe.
The episodes run various lengths. They are anywhere from 18 minutes to one hour and in season 2 they all run close to one hour and in season 3 they are over one hour with one coming close to 2 hours.
However, this was season one and here are the episodes.
THE BIRTHDAY 2/4/66...A man plots to celebrate his 50th birthday by killing his wife and robbing the bank at which he works. He gets a huge shock however.
THE HAND 2/11/66...This is actually an episode of The Outer Limits entitled "Demon With The Glass Hand" and stars Robert Culp. It was very odd to see this show in Spanish with subtitles.
THE CELLER PART 1 2/18/66...A strange alien invasion is started in this tale adapted from a short story by Ray Bradbury.
THE CELLER PART 2 2/25/66...Alien mushrooms take over the minds of humans in this chilling conclusion of the Bradbury short story.
THE CASK 3/4/66...A man gets revenge on another who makes one pass too many at his wife. Based on a short story by Edgar Allen Poe. One of the best.
THE OFFER 3/11/66...A gangster seems to have his entire life organized, including his own death. A great twist ending.
THE DOUBLE 3/18/66...A man buys a robotic double of himself, but things take a bizarre turn as the robot has his own agenda.
THE PACT 3/25/66...Terrifying tale about a hypnotist who keeps a dead mans soul alive in his body. Based on the Poe short story "The Case Of M. Valdemar".
THE DOLL 4/1/66...A mistreated young girl has special plans for the people who cross her. It does not end well.
THE ROCKET 4/8/66...An elderly man wants to travel into space with his grandchildren. A heartwarming tale from Ray Bradbury.
THE JOKE 4/22/66...A woman and her lover plot to murder her husband who loves playing jokes. Another great twist ending.
THE CABIN 4/29/66...Two women who are friends are stranded in a mountain cabin. One dies and the other buries the body, but it keeps appearing in different places.
THE ANNIVERSARY 5/6/66...A police commissioner tells his daughter how he rose in the ranks, but he has a real shock coming after telling the tale.
THE WAIT 5/13/66...A family stranded on Mars for 20 years is rescued by a couple of astronauts, bug nothing is as it seems. This is also adapted from a Ray Bradbury short story.
THE ALARM PART 1 5/20/66...The press announces that aliens are heading towards Earth while a scientist discovers a woman who seems to give off radiation.
THE ALARM PART 2 5/27/66...Great conclusion to a great story. The woman with the radiation tells her centuries old story and how it ties into the alien invasion.
THE SMILE 6/3/66...In a dystopian future society much like 2024 people hate the past so much they have a monthly party to destroy everything about the past. Odd and very downbeat.
THE ASPHALT 6/24/66...The final episode in season 1 is a huge disappointment. It's about a man stuck in some wet asphalt and as he sinks he asks people for help, and is ignored.
All of these episode except for the final one are damned good and should please horror and science fiction fans. Creator, writer and direcor Narciso Ibanez Serrador really knew how to make the best of the show, and he always does a great little intro for each tale as well.
A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SERIES. Don;t miss it!!
