Everyone knows who Julie Adams is, at least I assume you do.
Julie was born in 1926 and made her first credited feature film in 1949 entitled "The Dalton Gang" but she was credited as Betty Adams. For two years she used that name until she started going by Julie Adams in the 1951 film "Bright Victory".
She was a Universal contract player and starred in several more westerns until her most famous role as Kay Lawrence in the 1954 horror film "Creature From The Black Lagoon". The same year she also starred in "Francis Joins The WACS".
Julie also appeared in many, many TV shows such as "Maverick", "Perry Mason", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Hawaiian Eye". In 1962 she came back to movies such as "The Underwater City".
I remember her for such memorable performances in "The Young Lawyers", "Kolchak The Night Stalker" and "Night Gallery".
Everything she did I enjoyed her in, and all of us who grew up watching Julie will indeed miss her. I still to this day will NEVER forget her in a white one piece swim suit in "Creature From The Black Lagoon". Another part of my younger years is gone. Julie passed away on Feb. 3rd at the age of 92. She had really been ill the last few days and it was just a matter of time.
RIP Julie, and thanks for making my growing up years unforgettable.
