The story centers around 4 people who are genetic mutations and their leader Adam (John Shea). These mutants fight to keep the world safe from a madman named Mason Eckhart (Tom McCamus) who runs a bio-engineering lab called Genomex.
Jesse (Forbes March), Shalimar (Victoria Pratt), Brennen (Victor Webster) and Emma (Lauren Lee Smith) and the four protagonists, and they do make a very good team.
The first season consists of 22 episodes and they are as follows.
THE SHOCK OF THE NEW 10/1/2001... An empath named Emma is on the run and she is suddenly protected by three other "new mutants". This is the introduction of the main characters of the show.
I SCREAM THE BODY ELECTRIC 10/8/2001... Brennen is captured by Eckhart and is turned against his friends.
RUSSIAN ROULETTE 10/15/2001... Mutant X comes to the aid of a teenager running from the Russians. She holds a secret weapon they want.
FOOL FOR LOVE 10/22/2001... Shalimar falls in "lust" with another feral, and then the complications start when he tries to find a cure for his condition.
KILOHERTZ 10/29/2001... A new mutant is kidnapped and Mutant X must find the kidnappers as well as figure out why Eckhart wants him so badly.
THE MEANING OF DEATH 11/10/2001... Adam and Eckhart must work together when a mysterious plague starts killing off the mutants, both newe and old.
LIT FUSE 11/17/2001... Brennen becomes romantically involved with a gorgeous mutant that Eckhart seeks because of her energy absorbing skills.
IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES 11/24/2001... Jesse falls in love with a woman whom Eckhart seeks in order to corrupt the public computer newschannel against the New Mutants and for the Goverments benefit.
CRIME OF THE NEW CENTURY 11/26/2001... A young boy who is developing mutant talents has been kidnapped...but is all what it appears to be in this very well made episode with plenty of twists and turns.
DARK STAR RISING 1/14/2002... Mutant X encounters a group of people trying to break into Genomex. They are ferals who were experimented on and now they want revenge against Eckhart.
WHITER SHADE OF PALE 1/21/2002... A new mutant who can make herself invisible works against both Adam and Eckhart.
DOUBLE VISION 1/28/2002... A friend of Brennen lures him and Emma into a trap causing Emma to split into two personalities. One is good, the other pure evil.
BLOOD TIES 2/4/2002... Jesse is forced into a deadly mission against Eckhart by his estranged father.
ALTERED EGO 2/11/2002... A young new mutant shows up seeking revenge against her father. Adam tries to convince her otherwise.
LAZARUS SYNDROME 2/18/2002... A great episode. The team encount a mutant who can suck the energy out of other mutants and kill them. The team tries to rescue Emma from his clutches.
INTERFACE 2/25/2002... Emma reunites with and old frind who then tries to turn her into the government agency knows as GSA.
PRESUMEND GUILTY 4/15/2002... Adam is framed for a murder by a new mutant that can erase memories.
EX MARKS THE SPOT 4/27/2002... Shalimar's ex shows up while trying to steal a priceless treasure that holds a microchip with amazing power.
NOTHING TO FEAR 5/4/2002... Another great episode. A mutant with telepathic ability manages to get into the mindes of Mutant X. He is working for Eckhart because he has convinved the man that Mutant X killed his father.
DEADLY DESIRE 5/11/2002... While keeping Eckhart from getting a new element the Mutant X team runs into a female mutant who cn make men fall in love with her and then kill them when she is finished with them.
A BREED APART 5/18/2002... Mutant X encounter a new faction of mutants led by a maniac named Gabriel Ashlocke (Michael Easton).
DANCING ON THE RAZOR 7/6/2002... Mutant X and Genomex are captured using their powers and both have to stop the reporter from broadcasting the news and showing the world.
That was season one. In season 2 things would change a bit as they often do in TV series. As I said this is a very well made show and if you get a chance to see it I hope you enjoy it.
