Riccardo Freda directed this telling of the "Jason And The Argonauts" tale.
Jason (Roland Carey) takes his band of men on the ship Argo to search for the Golden Fleece to appease the angry god which have allowed his kingdom to be overrun with invaders and natural disasters.
While he and his men are gone more evil takes over the land in the form of and would be king trying to convince the people that Jason has died. He also takes advantage of this by forcing Jason's wife Creusa (Ziva Rodann) to marry him or he will kill her son.
After many trials and tribulations such as an island full of witches, Jason and his men return and right all of the wrongs that have been going on.
Many people dislike this film for some reason and that is probably because they compare it to the classic 1963 film "Jason And The Argonauts" which isn't a fair comparasion. This is a low budget Italian film, but still very well handled for what it is.
The monster cyclops is pretty cool and Ziva Rodann is sexy as ever. The print for this film is beautiful color and widescreen except for one short sequence which appears to have been added back into the print.
It had been a long time since I first saw this movie, but I really enjoyed it. You might as well.
