Jean-Louis Trintignant stars as Jean Reynaud, a man who just can't get enough in life that excites him.
His beautiful wife Danielle (Erika Blanc) is used to his infedelity, but also still loves him. When a mysterious new neighbor moves into the upstairs apartment, Jean is curious about the noises he hears and decides to investigate.
He discovers a beautiful blonde named Nicole (Carroll Baker) who seems to fear her boyfriend Klaus (Horst Frank). Jean finds that Nicole excites him and starts an affair with her.
Soon he finds his life in danger from Klaus, but it is no for the reasons he thinks it is. This is the Italian version of "Diabolique" but with a few plot differences.
It's a good film from the late 60's and the plot moves along well. If you're a Euro babes fan like I am you get the above mentioned beauties as well as Helga Line who has a small but memorable role. The four women make this film well worth watching.
60's colors, fashions and cars made me long for the good old days. Anyway, this is a good bet for mystery fans and it has a rather downbeat ending for every character.
