EMPIRE OF THE ANTS 1977 (MGM)

Sexy Joan Collins stars in this movie about giant radioactive ants attempting to take over a town. Director Bert I. Gordon took H.G. Wells' novel of the same name and changed almost everything, but did manage to make a very enjoyable big bug movie.
The effects don't always work, but who cares this is fun stuff. Collins is her typical bitch self and Robert Lansing in the boat captain that takes Collins' small tour group to an offshore spot to look at real estate.
Robert Pine is a coward who gets his comuppance and Albert Salmi is the small town sheriff under control of the ants.
If you like big bug movies and enjoy throwbacks to the 50's, this is a winner.
